Educational only $999 iMac

Apple has quietly launched another Mac for educational institutions only. It features Intel Core i3 processor, 21.5'' display, AMD Radeon HD graphics processor, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard disk and SuperDrive. It comes preinstalled with OS X Lion. The next educational iMac is $1149 and offers Intel Core i5 with 4GB of RAM and 500GB of storage.

Few weeks ago, Apple, discounted MacBook (White) and is currently selling it only to educational institutions. There is no talk about are they ever going to be available for individuals. Alongside of that, Apple is currently offering Mac (iMac, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air) for college students and college stuff at the reduced price with $100 gift card to spend on the Mac App Store.

Apple posts MobileMe to iCloud migration for developers

Apple allowed MobileMe to iCloud migration for developers. You can migrate Mail, Contacts and Calendars for free and get 25GB option also for free. The Gallery, iDisk and iWeb are not transfered but you can continue using that features at your MobileMe account. The expiration date for MobileMe accounts are June 30, 2012. Non-developer accounts are not yet allowed for using migration. Apple is expected to release iCloud in fall alongside iOS 5.

Apple releases iOS 5 beta 5 [UPDATED]

Today, on Saturday, Apple releases the next beta version of iOS. Developers reported no major features, just few bug fixes. The available downloads are for the original iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA), iPod Touch (4th and 3rd-gen.) and iPhone 3Gs. More info later.

Update 1 Alongside the iOS 5 b5, Apple releases xCode 4.2 developer preview 5, iTunes 10.5 beta 5 and Apple TV iOS beta 4.

iOS5b5 is available via software update on iDevice.

Apple disabling iOS 5 beta iPhones without dev accounts and developers who provided the installs

MacRumors website provided some news about iOS 5 beta software. The users who updated their accounts with iOS 5 beta without developer account are stuck with iPhones that are shutting down and returning to activation mode.

But according to a report from AppleInsider, the deactivations appear to be a concerted effort by Apple to crack down on registered developers who have been selling off extra beta slots to offer non-developers access to iOS 5 beta versions. Developers who have sold off their slots are apparently reporting that Apple has shut down their accounts over the violation of the company's developer terms, which limit beta iOS installations to the developer's own devices for testing purposes.

''Many of my developer friends have reported that Apple has sent an email warning which said that they have identified the developer to be selling his slots for some users to get early preview of iOS.

And Apple has started closing the developer accounts for selling the slots and also, have flagged the UDIDs associated with that dev account, thus making the iOS 5 device unusable.

Many developers have received this letter and immediately banned their account from the developer’s program.

Once Apple locks your iOS device, the phone will enter the initial setup mode asking you to connect to a WiFi network. And nothing happens more than that.''
