On October 23, 2001 Apple introduced the iPod music player. The iPod is the market leader in portable music players. Apple shipped more than 220 million unitsas of September 2009. There is four variants of the iPod.



The current iPod Shuffle
The first one is the smaller iPod and music player on the world. It doesn't have display. It is available in five colors (silver, blue, green, orange, pink). It can handle 15 hours of playing music. It features a VoiceOver. It is currently being sold in 2GB model. The US price is $49.




The current iPod Nano
The iPod Nano has gone through six generations since its introduction. The current supports FM radio, a pedometer, 240x240 multitouch display and has a clip from iPod Shuffle. It is available in 8GB and 16GB models. It supports 24 hours od music and is currently being sold in seven colors (silver, graphite, blue, green, orange, pink, (product) red). The price is $149 for 8GB and $179 for 16GB.


The current iPod Classic

The old and good iPod classic is here too. It features a click wheel, 2,5'' display and a hard drive with capacity of 160 GB. It is available in silver and black color and is being sold  for $249. It can handle 36 hours od music and 6 hours of video.








The current iPod Touch
The latest and most powerful iPod is iPod Touch. It features 3,5'' multitouch display, iPhone OS - iOS, rare and facetime camera with ability of filming 720p video. It has Apple's A4 system on a chip, built-in microphone and speaker and 3-axis gyroscope. It is available in 8GB, 32GB and 64GB capacity. It can handle 40 hours od music and 7 hours of video. The price for 8GB model is $229, 32GB $299 and 64GB $399.
