iPad

The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple. It is primarily used for reading books, watching movies, listening music, browsing web and playing games. The iPad runs the iOS (modified for iPad -bigger screen) - the same OS that runs iPhone and iPod Touch. It is the latest apple product that runs iOS.

Like iPhone and iPod Touch, the iPad uses a multitouch disaplay for controlling the device. iPad is available in two version. One is WiFi only and another has bulit in 3G wireless network connection (GSM and CDMA). The device is managed by iTunes running on a PC or Mac via USB cable. *iOS is a PC-free iOS, iCloud will sync device and backup in cloud.

The first generation was sold 3 million of the devices in 80 days. During 2010, Apple sold 14.8 million iPads worldwide.

The iPad 2 has a new dual core Apple A5 processor and VGA front-facing and 720p rear-facing cameras. Apple added FaceTime video calling. The battery lasts 10 hours and can handle 1 month of standby. iPad 2 can provide up to 10 hours of video, 140 hours of music. It is 33% thinner than the original iPad and is thinner 0.5mm than the iPhone 4.

It is equipped with accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyro and GPS. The only real buttons are still home, sleep/wake, volume rocker and switch button (mute or screen rotation).

It is available in white and black, wifi only and 3G+wifi (at&t gsm and verizon cdma).
Storage is the same as the original iPad, 16, 32 or 64 GB.
